A place where words and pixelated light befoul one another
"Jesus was a community organizer. Pontius Pilate was a governor."
Right on, good point! Palin's speech was of course written by a group of pros, and she practiced it, and overall gave good delivery to a warm response (both from the party faithful in the hall, and to a lesser extent Americans "viewing at home." But this line seemed poorly chosen to me at the time. The derision with which she said it made clear that the writers and she had not considered the implications. Church leaders are community organizers, Katrina rebuilders are community organizers, Republican GOTV leaders are community organizers. Sure, some "community organizers" don't do much of value, but others do and the same can certainly be said of elected leaders!
